Tis' the season to be jolly..
in honor of christmas time im gonna go over some make up styles you can do for christmas, prior to christmas, or even new year. i had troubles figuring out last night what type of make up do you wear for christmas? not too dark, but not too light, i figured out that you can do a crisp snowy color..meaning you can add nice shine to your cheekbones with a rosey blush. i got a Too Faced palette as a gift the other day and its great for xmas make up.
By acheiving a light yet smokey christmas look i used the top left color called "milk chocolate" and i did the corners of the eyes with the bottom left shadow which is called "dirty bag" and to top it off i used the rosey blush along with the mirror mirror gloss. btw the two faced palette is about $39.50. if you wanna go totally deckeddd out in xmas colors watch Miss Chevious's tutorial either the holiday greens tutorial or you can watch the fall inspired look:

other colors you can mix up for the holiday looks are mostly cranberries, forest greens, browns, coppers, golds, and you can also use Retrospeck from M.A.C. which will give you a great frosted look.
now that the make up is down, and you know what you are going to apply on your eyes, its crucial that you prep your face before applying foundation. wash your face with philosphy...literally: ($78)
Since the set is pricey, you can buy the purity by itself for about $10. after washing your face make sure you apply some moisturizer and then apply primer to your face (M.A.C. primer or smashbox photo finish)
hope you guys have a happy holidays!!

Even though the 217 is not for contouring purposes I like to use that brush anyway because it blends out better. So after you apply your foundation you take your 217 brush and you dab it into your blush powder and you make a thin line from the top side of your nose ( almost to your brow) and draw a thin line down and blend it out so it wont be too dark . The line should be no thicker than your pinky or else it will look like you have dirt on the sides of your nose. When your done take a eyeshadow thats close your skin color and brush it down the middle and blend. The picture below shows you where you should make your two dark contour lines and your one light line through the middle. ( make sure you dont copy the picture. the picture is just to show you where the lines go. (AND DONT PAY ATTENTION THE THE DARK PART ON THE CHIN)
P.S. by doing this it will give the illusion that your nose is straight from the front angle
